Darkness Too Visible by Megan Cox Gurdon
The Author in darkness to visible is trying to say that books should be banned for an certain age. For example on paragraph three it says ''How is dark contemporary fiction for teens.'' She says its to much brutal beating and kidnapping and its to dark for ages twelve to eighteen. The Author uses imagery to make me feel a certain way. One Example is on page Megan says ''Go ask Alice, recounts a girl spiral into drug addiction, rape, prostitution and fatal overdose.'' This imagery makes me feel a way that this book is scary and it really isn't appropriate for ages twelve and under because they might feel uncomfortable and not really educated for their age and grade. The article ''Darkness to Visible'' by Megan Cox Gurdon is really argumentative, but I do agree with her at one point because I think ages twelve and under are not going to understand what the words even mean and its going to make them feel uncomfortable. However, I feel that at my age group, we should have access to these types of books that are brutal, etc.
